" Recorder " is a visual poem, an 8min film choreographed and danced by Anuschka von Oppen, to music by Michiel Soete, and visual effects by Arun Leander.

Filmed during Berlin Covid closures in January of 2022, a living room setting replaces the theater. Recorder is a visual poem that interplays between an inside and outside world of merging landscapes to music of melodic rhythms and intimate distortion. In this living room-theater scene, the “ theater” is devoid of viewers and instead utilises the camera lens as the main spectator. Open to solitude and sensations, the body becomes a recorder, a dance oscillating between voyeur and messenger of the material and immaterial world. In search for what’s amiss and cannot be seen, dream-like manifestations deconstruct dance forms, exploring the craving for truth.
